Here is a little story about us. We're both from families of
four children and originally from Houlton, a little town in northern
Maine. Most of you have probably never heard of it but if you watch
the national weather reports, it's usually the coldest place in the
winter, which is why we moved here. We thought, at the time, that
anyplace south had to be warmer! We've been in the Berkshires for
33 years now and we love it here, in spite of the weather. We have
one son, Eric, who is in the Air Force and lives in Nebraska and one
daughter, Linda, who lives in Pittsfield. They both graduated from
Wahconah High School. We have three granddaughters, Amber, 17,
Mickaela, 10 and Emma, 2 and one grandson on the way in November. My
wife, Maggi, was a waitress at the Dalton Restuarant. She also worked
at Crane & Co. for twelve years, and Nationwide Insurance Company. She
is now doing house cleaning on a part time basis. She just doesn't want
to slow down, especially since I retired! I worked for Crane & Co. for
just over 30 years, the last nine in security. We plan to stay in the
area for good and enjoy the Berkshires and our family. I do some wood
working and gardening to keep myself busy, and Maggie has Molly
and Dixie to combat the empty nest syndrome. Sometimes we slip and call
the dogs by our children's names, as they seem to relate to each other as
brother and sister. We both love animals and enjoy country music, flea
markets and ice cream. (PS.) We just adopted another Lhasa by the name of
Murphy. He was on his way to the animal shelter because the people that had him could not keep him.
We brought him into our family and Dixie & Molly taught him right off who was boss.
He is getting along great now, and has become a part of the family.
PPS. On November 7th,(election day) our son and his wife gave us some very good news. We
were the proud grandparents of a baby Boy. This is our only grandson,so I
assume he will not be spoiled. His name is Samuel Osborne.
